Bed Bug

  Characteristic: light red

  Length: 6 mm

  Residence:in crevices, after wooden planks, foot of wall or carpets, bed sheets and under mattress

  Food:human blood

  Damage:Bites do not hurt human but cause swell

Remark : often found in houses, hotels and wood-paved houses

Carpenter Bee

 Characteristic: Big head in black green color like metal, yellow or white hair

 Length:18-25 mm

 Residence:on dry and soft wood outside the house, cowshed, fence or big tree branches

 Food:nectar and pollen

Damage: digging a hole with a length of 6 – 12 mm and 90⁰ angle to enter, biting soft sawn timber

 Remark:causing heavy damages. Often making nest in soft wood such as cedar, red-colored wood

Honey Bee

 Characteristic: red, black and brown

 Length:12-18mm

 Residence: making nest on tree hollows or house wall

 Food:nectar

 Damage: if disturbed, they will bite; honey in nest made on the wall may destroy wall and attract other insects

 Remark:be useful if they do not make nest on house wall or places where human beings act

Centipede

 Characteristic:yellow brown, 15 pairs of long legs, 3 stripes along body

 Length:25-38 mm

 Residence:khu vực ẩm ướt trong nhà, chúng hoạt động về đêm

Food :eating small pests

 Damage: useful because they eat pests but most of people want to treat them inside the house

 Remark:venom cannot harm human. Some species in tropical regions may be poisonous

Millipede

 Characteristic:brown and black, two pairs of legs at each section

 Length:18-25 mm

 Residence:Garbage region at chaff layers, gardens or rotten vegetables and fruits

 Food:components in rotten vegetables, fresh vegetables, dead snails or earthworm

 Damage:causing nuisance

 Remark:sometimes residing in houses in big quantities, especially in the dry season

Plough-beam bee

 Characteristic: yellow black and red brown, 4 wings, small waist

 Length: 6 – 50 mm

 Residence: up to species, paper nests on eaves, mud nests hung over, ground nest in crevices on wall and attics

 Food:caterpillars and other pests

  Damage: Biting if disturbed
