Generally, there are three popular species destroying our house, namely Norway rat, Roof rat and House mouse.
(Norway rat): found in most states of America but they gather in North America. They are also called sewer rat, wharf rat, brown rat and common rat. Norway rats like digging holes which are commonly found on the land. Outside the house, they usually make nests underground, especially near foot of the wall and under concrete base. Inside the house, they make nests at slots on the ground, under pallet and equipment or abnormal places lower than the foundation of the house. Norway rats often move above or below the ground, digging holes near walls, fences or bushes.
(Roof rat): mostly found in coastal areas in California, Oregon, Washington the Gulf region and Central Atlantic Ocean. Roof rats are good at climbing and usually found on pillars, roof and trees. Outside the house, they like making nests under stumps, firewood stacks and attics but they usually make nests within holes. Inside the house, they make nests above attics, separate roof, ceilings and roof-tops. Roof rats move among pipes, fences, eaves and trees.
(House mouse): be an agile and small mouse species. Adult house mice weigh from ½ to 1 once (14-28gr). House mice vary in color from light brown to dark grey but usually dark grey or slightly brown except for light-colored belly. House mice have big ears compared to their bodies. Ears have little hair and from 2.5’’ (63.5mm) to 4’’(102mm) long. Their legs and eyes are small in proportion to their bodies. House mice easily adapt to human life. They adapt themselves to weather conditions, diversified living environment, eat food for human beings and reproduce at a remarkable rate. They live at most of residential areas worldwide.
